What is freemom, anyway?

Motherhood has never been easy. In fact, I all too often find myself offering imaginary apologies to friends who became parents before I did. But the pandemic has made things so much more confronting for those of us who have little people to worry about. From navigating higher-risk pregnancies to managing the online classroom, moms are being pulled in more directions than ever thought imaginable.

The current state of the world is debilitating to say the least. But in a way, it has inspired us to completely rethink the way we raise our humans. From new conversations about parental leave to how we educate our youth, the challenges we face are delivering opportunities that we may have never had the opportunity to consider.

freemom is a podcast that explores motherhood in a different way than what we’re used to. We are focusing on thought leaders who are truly trying to change the way moms are viewed in the world. We are talking to people who aren’t satisfied with the way things are today and are using their voices and platforms to change it. We’re picking the brains of authors and journalists, scientists and therapists, business owners and politicians to understand why and trying to figure out what we can do TOGETHER.

We are not meme culture but we do love a laugh. We think that moms are incredible, but they are also tired and broken from a system that does not support them. So how can we use our commonality as “mother” to wake up the rest of the world? Let’s find out.
